Comprehensive Electrical Services

General Electrical Services

Drewlec can provide general electrical services to suit all your requirements. Our electrical engineers are all qualified to 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulation standards so you can be assured that any work carried out will be to the most up to date requirements. We can undertake amongst other things:

  • Complete and partial rewires to buildings
  • Design and install of new installation
  • Advice on and installation of energy saving lighting & other products
  • Response repairs and fault finding
  • PAT testing
  • Fixed wiring testing and condition surveys
  • Specialist in power monitoring and reporting across your sitewide installation

Fixed Wiring Installations

All electrical systems need regular maintenance from your lighting, sockets, wiring, portable appliances and switchgear.

  • There is a raft of British standards, codes of practice, building regulations and HSE guidance relating to electrical installations. Building owners or occupiers need to be satisfied that the equipment and fixed wiring are regularly tested and maintained in accordance with the ‘Electricity at Work Regulations’ to ensure that staff are not put at undue risk in the workplace.

BS7671 is the standard relating to wiring installations and all electrical contractors and their staff need to be trained and qualified to this standard.

Drewlec staff are all trained and qualified to these standards and can provide advise and guidance on all aspects of electrical work.

  • Drewlec Electrical Services has the expertise to design, install and commission electrical installations for your building. From small additions to existing systems such as an additional socket, new lighting, new switch gear or additional circuits to whole new installations to existing or new buildings.

We can also help you save money by monitoring your power consumption and providing a report on possible savings across your site.

  • Fixed wiring installations should be inspected and tested on a regular basis. A typical testing/inspection frequency would be every 5 years for an office installation, every year for a swimming pool, every three months for construction site temporary installations.

Test certificates and ongoing installation certificates should be stored in a secure location. Often your insurance company will require to see a copy.

Regular checks on your portable appliances, life saving equipment such as fire alarms and emergency lighting will need to be carried out. It is important to ensure that access is maintained at all times around electrical equipment such as distribution boards so in the event of an emergency power can be isolated.

If you have a specific query on the type and/or frequency of testing please call, we will be happy to advise you.

Repairs & Fault Finding

We understand that from time to time systems have problems and fail and obviously fault finding and repairs need to be carried out as soon as possible. A qualified service engineer is always available to deal with emergency problems so that your system can be operational again as soon as practically possible. For regularly maintained systems and depending upon the problem we can also offer telephone support where appropriate.
